Ken's M&M Truck

Ken has a huge vat of M&Ms in his pickup truck.  In the vat are 100 green, 200 red, 300 orange, and 400 yellow, 500 brown, and 600 tan M&Ms.  Being the eccentric individual that he is, he wants to insure that he selects at least two M&Ms of the same color.  Since he does not want to take his eyes off the road to take the M&Ms, how many M&Ms should he take in order to insure that he gets a pair?
